A Pair of 'Venetian Gondolier' Watercolour by Natale Gavagnin. Italian. c.1890 We are offering for sale a pair of fine original watercolours of Venice by Italian artist Natale Gavagnin (1851-). This desirable Venetian scene depicts a gondolier in a scenic canal flanked by tall buildings and trees. Both of them are signed bottom left. This watercolour still has fresh colours and the image size is approx 9" x 5". It is in a turn-of-the-century frame (framed in Toronto, Canada). The frame is showing signs of chipping around the edges and the lucky buyer will probably want to reframe it. It was bought in the late l890s by a lady on a world tour and thus by descent to our client.
