'Indian Village in the Pacific Northwest' by J. J. Engelhardt (1867-1915)

A fine panormaic work of an Indian encampment in the North West territory. Engelhardt travelled extensively from California northwards. This scene is one he repeated several times with variations for its fine composition. For some reason he used several pseudonyms for his work. This one is signed J. Delane (a fellow artist who Engelhardt would have probably known) but is clearly the work of Engelhardt. c.l890-l900. Oil on canvas. 30" x 18".
